In this case geoinformation and satellite based crisis information can provide important additional information.
The International Charter Space and Major Disasters
The International Charter consists of space agencies, satellite providers and authorised users with the objective of providing a unified system of space data acquisition and delivery through authorised users to those affected by natural or man-made disasters. Each member agency has committed resources to support the provisions of the Charter and thus is helping to mitigate the effects of disasters on human life and property.
